So, I hold my thumbs for Lr5.
Me too ... to the point I have not upgraded to Lr 4 yet ... I have tested every beta, RC and every trial for the various final release versions since v4.0 ... with the shortfalls and incompleteness of the Book module along the total lack of attention to the Slideshow module for the past three versions ... I see no reason to part with my hard-earned cash to upgrade to v4.
Since I have to seek other solutions for books and slideshows and I already have ACR with Ps for marginal images, I am comfortable with sticking with v3.6. In fact I am mid-way through a month long test run of using Aperture 3 entirely for my workflow ... so far, I have not seen any reason why I couldn't abandon Lightroom altogether if I can eliminate the mountain of derivative files I accumulate in the course of a year to get the job done ... It isn't about the time to export the images to a file format other software can work with, the drive space consumed or the housework to catalog the extra files ... it's about simplification of the workflow (something I had thought that the concept of Lr was intended to solve) ... no jumping back and forth, to and fro just to change an image to B&W or sepia tone on the fly ... For a company with the resources and history of success in offering solutions, I just can't understand the methodology and lack of attention Adobe has placed on some modules in Lr have received ... not to mention several other decisions made by Adobe in general of late.
