OK. Can you confirm a few more things:

1. does selecting "Open PDF in Preview" and "Save as PDF" work correctly?

2. If you go to another application, like Preview, can you select "Save as Adobe PDF?

     If so, does it work correctly

3. What settings are you selecting in the Save as Adobe PDF dialog?

Does booting into a new admin account work?

Does booting into safe mode work?
