When I click on the photo of something I have imported, such as a Goa photo, and then click on GO TO FOLDER IN LIBRARY, LightRoom goes to a folder which contains this photo plus all the other photos in that subfolder of Goa, but in the Left hand pane, it does not highlight anything. The Hard drive is still the same, it does not change and there is no highlight to a particular folder.When I click on a photo of something I have imported, such as a Varanasi photo, and this subfolder IS SHOWN on the left hand side under my hard drive,and then click on GO TO FOLDER IN LIBRARY, then lightroom goes to the folder which contains this varanasi photo, the subfolder shows up, the whole folder is highlighted and all the photos that folder are on my middle pane.
When I look at my hard drive outside of lightroom, in Finder, then I see the hard drive name "Little Russian" on the left hand side. When I click on Little Russian to open it, I see 4 main folders: Gujarat, India 2012, Mexico, Thailand. If I click on India 2012, I see 4 more subfolders: Varanasi, Kerala, Mumbai and Goa. ( only Varanasi and Kerala show up as folders in Lightroom, the Mumbai and Goa folders do not show up). If I click on Varanasi for instance, I then see 10 more subfolders each labeled as Varanasi 1,Varanasi 2, Varanasi 3, etc. If I open Varanasi 1, I see all my photos and XMP files. I also see all of the photos easily in Kerala, Mumbai and Goa when I am looking at the Hard drive in FINDER. So...it all looks in order when I am looking at the hard drive. All the photos I can see in my hard drive all have the XMP files, they all look in order.
HOWEVER....when I open Lightroom, only the Kerala and Varanasi folders show up under the folder India 2012, which is under the main folder LITTLE RUSSIAN. The folder India 2012 ( which contains the 4 folders on my hard drive in finder) only shows two folders now.....only Varanasi and Kerala. The folders Goa and Mumbai are no where to be seen.
In Lightroom, if I then click on the very top folder of Little Russian, I can see from the photo count that it contains the photos of both Goa and Mumbai, although these folders are not listed. In the centre pane, i can scroll down and find the photos of Goa and Mumbai. They seem to be in this parent file of Little Russian, which is the whole of my hard drive, but the folders do not show up under the subfolder India 2012 like they are shown in my external hard drive called Little Russian.
When I imported Goa and Mumbai, I imported them under India 2012, the same way i had imported the Varanasi and kerala photos. I had the "Include subfolders " clicked on, and I imported by ADD. I do not know why they don't show up. Seems lightroom is adding them, but not into the folders. I don't know what i am doing wrong, or how to fix it.
