Thanks for the help:
- I played around with cache yesterday, purged it and increased the size to the 10 GB like you mentioned, but alas no luck
- Hardware has been discussed at length, but so far I get no indications (test results) that something is faulty. Also given the fact the stuff is almost brand new, not saying that hardware is always ok leaving the factory. And I don't know how to determine a hardware issue when I don't have othe issues or reports indicating a problem. I cannot just say 'let's replace 8GB memory', I had the image issues with both local SSD and remote NAS disks, I do not expect to have multple disks to act-up at the same time, ...
- Good to know LR is not writing the RAW image (at least not often)
- I use ADD to get images in LR from an existing folder, no copies there
- I am not saying it's LR, but I never saw something like this happening elsewhere, I need to understand the pieces involved in this proces and determine the cause by elimination.
- Not useful if I only get 'it can't be LR'....OK but what else can cause the thing
- So I looked at things that are more or less new to me like calibrating my display
- Well I calibrated the display and created a ICC v2 profile, so far it seems to have fixed the issue
, unless I am mistaken even the 'corrupted' images seem to be OK now......I might be delusional after all things I did to isolate the problem
- Maybe it would have worked too with ICC v4 ...
- One thing I also disabled was the XRITE software running in the background, the software checks if you need to recalibrate and other stuff...could be corrupting the ICC file
- Personally I don't understand how the ICC file could cause issues to the files themselves, unless it's causing LR act-up or rendering of images on the display in general
- But Rob Cole commented on issues in another POST related to ProPhoto in LR.
- So I am still very anxious and keep my fingers crossed it's related to the ICC file as I have no clue where to look further...wished someone would say 'hey, I got that same problem'...should be more people using XRITE to calibrate a display
