I went through the same transition a year ago and can confirm that web-weaver is absolutely right. You have to make the jump, but it's actually very painless and in practice you won't miss a beat. The catalog concept may seem slightly alien right now. But you'll discover that it's extremely effective and streamlined.
Organizationally it's no problem because once imported, Lightroom's Folder panel lets you keep track of the folder structure just as easily as you do in Bridge. But again, from that point on, you should do all organizing within Lightroom. Don't move or rename outside Lightroom, or you get into all sorts of problems with relinking and synchronizing.
Then in time you may decide to rely more on keywords and collections and less on physical folders. But that can come in its own time, no rush.
