The so called “release candidate” public beta for LR 4.4 also does not list that model as a newly supported camera. The final version of LR 4.4 will likely support a few more cameras than the RC so it depends on how long the HS50, announced on Jan 7, has been available to Adobe for profiling and whether Adobe considers it to be a priority. It might not be supported until the next version, LR 4.5, which would likely be in beta about 3 months from now, unless there is something new or difficult about supporting it, then it might take even longer:
