I doubt the images are lost from the CF. Place it back in the camera and look-see.
Just a hint/tip > I never, EVER, import files into LR dirtect from a card.
I ALWAYS have the computer OS copy them to a safe backup location then use LR Import Copy dialog to import them while making a working copy at a new location.
The backup images are never touched again.
