May I suggest that Lightroom a very expensive and cumbersome tool for this task, and I think there are freeware solutions that will work as well.
May I also suggest that this is a very inefficient way of organizing, since Lightroom has much more powerful and simple ways of creating this type of organization. I wouldn't do it this way unless you have a specific need to have the photos arranged in folders for people who don't have Lightroom to access. If you are going to access these photos entirely from Lightroom, then my advice is to stop, don't do this, there are much better ways of achieving "organization".
Nevertheless, if the images have been imported into LR, and you have used LR to filter (not sort) by metadata so that now you have selected all images that meet a certain criterion, you should be able to move the images thus selected to their desired folder(s) as follows:
- Select all the images that meet a certain metadata criterion (Ctrl-A)
- Open the Folder Panel on the left, if the destination folder doesn't exist, create it by clicking on the + sign to the right of the words "Folder Panel"
- In Lightroom, drag the photos to the desired folder.
This actually moves the images, and as a result, you now have an image file in the desired location, with whatever metadata was contained in the file.
