It's your software. Preview on Mac isn't color managed, and so displays the photo differently. I don't know about iPhoto

Fast Picture viewer. It also happens if I use windows 7 internal viewer for example. I have a JPG1, open it with LR, then export it. And JPG2 and JPG1 are different, being JPEG2 darker/more contrasted....

As I am not really a Mac person, someone else probably should answer; however, you could import the photo back into LR and see if it appears as you expect.
